WHAT HAS BEEN THE MOST CHALLENGING YET REWARDING SET YOU'VE SWAM?
A challenging set I enjoyed was 25x100s freestyle, each round descending to different paces. I believe this set didn’t just improve my stamina, but it helped with the confidence I needed in the beginning of freshman year to be able to drop time in my 200 and 500 free.
I began competitively swimming at age 5, and it has always been an important part of my life. However, it wasn’t until age 14 that I stepped back from all other sports and devoted my time to swimming. Every day this sport challenges me both physically and mentally, but it has taught me lessons I carry everyday. From early morning practices to trials and finals meets, I have learned the importance of perseverance and discipline. Swimming has shown me how to be a leader and that commitment always pays off. I have developed confidence and trust in myself both in and out of the water. Most importantly, I have gained lasting friendships and memories throughout my years on the Marlins. I am excited to continue swimming and growing as a student-athlete in college.
