I’m Brady Calkins. I began swimming at the age of five for the Gold River Stingrays, a local rec team with a fall/winter program, and swam there till the age of 10. After that, I made the switch to begin my year round career with the Marlins and have been there ever since. While with the Marlins, I have been lucky enough to have a number of great mentors and coaches as well as some great teammates and friends. Along with swim, I also played comp soccer till the age of nine and played baseball till the summer going into my freshman year of high school and had a number of great opportunities I’m grateful to have had and been a part of. These sports were able to help develop my overall athletic ability and create the student-athlete I am today. I also attend Jesuit High School Sacramento, an all boys Catholic High School that embraces its motto of being “men for others”. While at Jesuit, I have also been able to have some great mentors and teachers and have made some great friends. Through the classroom, swim team, and service opportunities, I have began to learn what it means to be a man for others and someone who can not only be there for others, but make those around them better in many aspects of life. As I continue to grow, I hope to develop these attributes even more and to add them to a college program in the next couple years.
