WHAT HAS BEEN THE MOST CHALLENGING YET REWARDING SET YOU'VE SWAM?
13x100 @ 1:10 Free Best Average, where I held 57s throughout the whole set. I really enjoyed this set because it showed me how important it is to train the way I race. Holding pace even when I was fatigued showed that I can maintain endurance and mental toughness when it counts, like in the 500.
I've been swimming competitively for almost 10 years and fell in love with the sport early. I started swimming with Lifetime when I was 7. By the time I was 11, I wanted a bigger challenge and moved to Sierra Marlins in 2021. The training was harder, which helped me drop a significant amount of time every season. In addition, I currently attend Granite Bay High School and have been part of its swim program for the past two years. One of the things I care about most is encouraging my teammates as much as improving myself. During hard sets I'll race the person next to me and help encourage the team. I think practice is where you actually get better, and it's more fun when everyone's pushing each other. As I continue to grow as both an athlete and a student, I hope to keep extending my limits and eventually contribute my skills and mindset to a college swim program.
